Geekly Daily 59 (Thursday, January 31st): Chapter coming tonight!

Now playing: DVR

▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

For people waiting for the next chapter, I'll be editing it next, and releasing it tonight at some point. Before midnight. Maybe not midnight here, but somewhere on the planet it will be before midnight when I release the chapter. So look forward to that, I suppose. If I finish and publish before midnight, here, maybe I'll even have a bit of time to game. Probably not though. I hear there's a new star trek...

Geekly Weekly TV Rankings ( for new):
  1. High Maintenance *****
What an awesome episode  of High Maintenance. I mean, I can't remember there ever being a bad episode of High Maintenance, but this one was great. Every story was over the top and crazy, and just great for a laugh. And yet it still felt real, and crazy and god I just love this show so much. It's something special.
  2. Les Miserables *****
1x04: Another amazing episode of an amazing show. What great production values. It really feels like what that time might have been like, dirty and miserable. Perhaps where they got the name. I like Eponine, though it took my time to realize it was Eponine. Also she might be going by a different name? I couldn't watch what it was. She was cute, and I'd also forgot that she was the daughter of Thenadier. Poor girl. Poor everyone who lived in this time, it really sucked for all of them.
1x05: This show is so good, even if I know everything that's gonna happen before it happens. The acting is fantastic, that army looked intimidating, though they've really underwhelmed in practice so far. Eponine didn't last very long, but I guess there isn't much time left in the show. Is the next ep the finale? There's not much more to tell.
  3. The Flash ****1/2
Great episode of the flash, as usual. It largely took place in a dreamscape, but definitely didn't fall into the same traps as other similar episodes of a show might. It was intense, a little messed up, the little girl was dark, Nora has a secret and Sherloque continues to be awesome.
  4. Shameless ****1/2
Fun episode this week of Shameless. Had one of my favourite new lines. Shameless always has lines that just tickle me, starting in season one with "You're a whore! Whore's don't get cars!!!!" and this season, my favourite quote is "Ffffuck the tent. We're having sex in my room!" And just leaves the dad and Carl on the couch just like frozen in shock. "I should go." "I think you should." hahahaha, the father having to know now that she's having sex with Carl. As for everyone else, Kevin is always so much fun, I still feel for Lip, and thought it amusing that him and that girl are closer now that they both cheated. "Maybe stop fucking Boon?" "Okay, but then you stop fucking my sister." Lol. Poor Emmy Rossum, her storyline is the hardest to watch right now. She's becoming another Frank, and that's so sad.
  5. Deadly Class ****1/2
1x02: Good second episode of deadly class. I loved doing the whole party thing with the second episode, that really let us see the characters unwind and get to know them in a casual setting. I don't care much for the school, or the whole "Training to be villains" plot. But if you throw a pale Asian goth babe at me, I'm gonna be hooked every time. I have a type. And there's two women on here that fit it. Oh man, that other goth is also so attractive, and I hearted the flirting between the punk kid and her, but it broke my heart when she took some dumb douchebag upstairs to fuck in his stead. I too have been rejected and hurt in a similar manner and no exactly how awful it feels. Sometimes women can really suck, and that moment felt really real for me. For the most part, I really enjoyed this episode though. And that's impressive, considering as I said, I kinda hate the premise. Oh also, the geologist from Big Bang Theory had likely his best role here. I wouldn't mind seeing more of him.
1x03: So good. Right out of the gate everyone is just talking about how Petra fucked Victor, and it's such a personal pain to me. I've had women reject me like that, going after some douchebag instead. And then she actually let him take her to the dance! And it was all an act! She never should have given him a chance, but there you have it. But then Billy. Billy there at the end was so smooth with the music and the dancing. He still there, and he would never ever heart her like Victor and those nazi bitches did. I did laugh at Victor's "Capitalism" line though. THat dance though. Billy and Petra. I'm such a suck for a goth romance.
  6. Young Justice****1/2
    3x11:
They went to school. Met some cute goth girl, because every show has realized what I always knew, that goth girls are super hot and awesome and bad ass. Forager is growing back his carapace, and also has some holo emitter thingy. I was surprised how accepting the goth girl was of Forager. Like he's acting like he's handicapped or something and she just is like "Aww he's weird and kinda cute" like okay. This has been less a deconstruct, and more just me trying to remember as much of the episode as I can... and yup that's about it.
3x12: That was a really good episode. Good enough to give the rating a boost. We haven't seen much of Beast Boy this season, but that's the great thing about this show. It has just a fucking massive cast, and gives everyone kinda one big moment to shine, and then they're just kinda part of the team. Beast Boy's dream was really twisted and fucked up, just the way I liked it. It was soooooo dark, and then they had that Teen Titans Go interlude with the Doom Patrol where they do a whole music number about going off to die on a mission. Again, dark. "You should have saw it coming, we have doom in the name" was I believe one of the lines. Inspired. Meanwhile the stuff we learned about Halo was interesting, and her relationship with the douchebag anger issues prince guy is... terrible. But the part at the end was amusingly cute, if bizarre. As soon as Beast Boy started kissing the princess, I was like "Well, guess Superboy and M'gann better just start making out too." And then they did. Which is strange, "Oh hey the kids are making out, guess we should just make out too." And then they all just sorta made out together in silence in a hotel room. And then it cut to Halo making out with Douchebag anger issues prince guy. And then to Sphere for the credits. Though Sphere wasnt making out with anyone or anything. Unfortunately.
3x13: I think I read somewhere that this was the mid-season finale, and it was fun how it brought the season together. Dick's briefing to Douchebag anger issues prince guy was like "Remember that time Batman did the thing in that episode, or the time Artemis did that thing in that episode, and the Beast Boy found out the thing at the end of last episode" Like a clip show, but all in like thirty seconds, and it was like "They were all connected, and now we're getting your sister back." And I expected them to have to fight for his sister, but I liked their approach a lot better. It was so simple! They just put on court of owl masks, walked right in, bid on her, won her, and walked right out and no one stopped them. I never expected that, too funny. THEN they went back and kicked tons of ass. Oh and the sister is evil, I saw that one coming. Halo's storyline with Cyborg was meh. Her hyperventillating was a bit much, but I cringed when Victor flat out decked her across the face.
  7. Supergirl ****
Great episode of Supergirl. Loved every scene with Brainy, including him impersonating frat boys to get the names of their drug dealer. I hadn't actually realized when Alex had her memory taken away that she'd still remember Kara was her sister, just not that Kara is Supergirl. That's not so bad, though now it's all drama about her losing empathy to aliens. Did Jonn ever consider Alex could still remember Kara is an alien, just not that she's Supergirl. Did no one think of that? I mean if we're keeping the whole Kara sister thing, why not Kara sister illegal alien, but totally not Supergirl. Anyway, the main plot followed NiaNol I guess her name is? The trans one. I actually really like this storyline. Even though I'm not trans, and not exactly the most woke person on that topic, I appreciate what this writing does to both make her trans identity an integral aspect of the plot, and that it's sorta reaffirming to people who are trans, like maybe they were meant to be girls after all, because only girls can be dreamers.  It's a warm message and one I can support. Have I mentioned this is Supergirl's best season. I mean that's a perfect example of being PC without shoving it down our throats. Or having a big "This is the moral of the week" moment, it's just an intrinsic part of the plot. Kudos to the writers. They deserve a raise.
  8. Arrow ****
It was a fine episode of Arrow, but felt a bit like a filler. After last episode largely felt as filler too, building up to a big talk that lasted about 30 seconds at the start of this episode. "I don't wanna talk" THEN WHY DID WE SPEND THE LAST 40 MINUTES HYPING THIS UP! Sorry. I'll control myself. I also was disappointed when Diaz's thing was a VR simulation. I assumed so, for a while. And then I was just questioning why Argus was so damn stupid, and begging for it to be a dream or VR sim. Then he fought Curtis, and I was hoping it was real and Curtis would man up and kick his ass. Then Diaz killed Curtis and I was shocked cause at this point this VR plot has gone on like 20 minutes. And then when I'd completely forgotten I'd ever thought it was VR, except a little naggle in the back of my head saying "Curtis can't be dead" it turned out to just be VR. What a rollercoaster of could not give much shits. I could honestly toss out this whole suicide squad 2.0 thing. Fuck, I could throw out all of Argus and be happy. All the actually do is supply faceless nobodies for the bad guys to absolutely cream, and make our heroes look better when they cream the bad guys. And then I cream my pants. 4 stars. :p
  9. Rent Live ****It was a great performance. Sure, most of it was the dress rehearsal, but thankfully Dress Rehearsals are often treated like the real thing, because that's literally their last chance to make sure it's all perfect before the show. Often times the Dress Rehearsal is a better performance than opening night. So it's not exactly like getting a subpar performance. Also, as someone who has only seen the movie of Rent, I was surprised how different the play was. Especially the second act. The performances were middling. I wasn't a big fan of the two leads, or the teacher. They just couldn't hold a candle to the likes of Anthony Rapp or Jessie L Martin who both showed up from the DC and Star Trek universes to sing in the finale. Probably the best part, but I also really enjoyed Vanessa Hudgen's as Maureen. I know she was the stunt casting of the musical, but she actually fit her character really well, and was the only one I prefered to the original. Mimi was alright as well, but I still heart Rosario Dawson. All in all, it was an enjoyable two hours and worth the waste of time. Oh also there was a much larger focus on Aids than the movie. Not a criticism or plus, just interesting. Though with all the PSA like discussions on HIV littered throughout the whole musical... until the end when it got lost completely. Bookending the play with a final discussion on AIDS probably would have helped the production feel consistent, instead of getting lost in the celebration. I suppose they had the tribute to the creator, but that didn't have anything to do with the Aids that the rest of the play was about.
  10. Brooklyn Nine Nine ****
I enjoyed Rosa's storyline. Her interactions with Broyle were fun, and she's so adorably sensitive underneath all that darkness. Also loved Holt's storyline about the radio show. It was kept light for the other plots, but still had some chuckles. The A plot was good, but I more enjoyed Amy's contributions. She's such an awesome wife, and does such a great job of being supportive and involved and well the perfect wife. I didn't care for her in season 1, but I heart her so much now. Even the way she was getting turned on by his 0 absences was hilarious. I hope the show gives her storylines in the future where we get to explore her life and Jake gets to be just as supportive and involved with her life and things she cares about.
  11. The Good Place ****
It was a fun episode of The Good Place, but the real highlight was definitely Eleanor. She had all the best moments, really stepped up and grew as a character, and nothing was cuter than that kiss she gave Chidi in public when he was trying to stay platonic. It was so cute. I love their relationship, so it might not surprise you that I hated the last like ten minutes with the twist that they had to destroy the relationship I love and reset Chidi for the hundredth time.
  12. Black Lightning ***1/2
2x10: It was a fine episode of Black Lightning, but nothing spectacular. Finally the Jenn on the run storyline came to an end, but I gotta ask. Why weren't the cop or Black Lightning nearby when Kaleel got transferred? I assumed they were trying to set a trap for Jeremiah, but instead they just assumed "Naw, we'll just give Kaleel over to the FBI, and let Jeremiah murder the FBI and Kaleel. I mean how did they not know that was going to happen? That's the part I didn't understand. But damn, sucks to be Kaleel, that looked really painful.
2x11: A fine episode I suppose. I was really tired and past out repeatedly watching it, then passed out completely, woke up like 5 hours later. Jumped through the episode to catch what I missed. It probably deserved better, as there are a lot of interesting wheels spinning in this episode. Teh acting can be a little wonky at points, and the writing has never been great, but it's fine. It's all fine. There are worse shows. And now Kaleel's dead, and I don't really care? Just another romance with a guy with anger issues. Good Riddance I say.
  13. Saturday Night Live ***
A fun episode, not as bad as a lot of episodes lately, but then again I love James Mcavoy. He wasn't the best at reading the cue cards, and his reading problem was enough to really hamper some of the sketches, especially the early ones, but there was some great content here, including the Tumnus sketch, the charmin sketch,
  14. Riverdale ***
A fine episode of Riverdale. Kinda bizzare how they just continued on as if they didn't end last episode with killing Archie. They mention scars we don't even see, say he's changed but he's not really. They break him up from Veronica so she can keep dating Reggie, and be all worried for her dad even though he's an evil prick. The one bright spot, well Betty and her Father were alright, but the one bright spot was the twist at the end. After setting up that Cheryl's dad would be taking over as Sheriff, it was nice to see Skeet Ulrich get it instead. The show Jericho proved he's a far better sheriff.
  15. Star Wars Resistance ***
1x13: Fine, if slow and somewhat uninteresting episode of Star Wars. Kaz has to watch the shop while the shopkeeps are away, and of course that's when a mercenary working for the first order decides to strike. It was middling uninteresting fair, but it filled half an hour.
1x14: Second episode was really good though. Now Kaz knows about Sinara, the First Order is more involved than ever, Torra was involved and she's way cute and I definitely ship her and Kaz. I also kind of like the dynamic of Kaz and his three lady friends who are all friends of each other through him. It's like as much of a klutz as he is, his strength seems to be that he surrounds himself with capable people and sees the best in them.
  16. The Gifted ***
It was an alright episode. I was bored the whole way through, but I've had a lot to watch lately. I did think Lauren's plot was pretty boring. I'd rather had some cool psychological mind battle, but instead she just became a runaway for a bit and got all moody and pale. It was sorta like she had her period this episode. Amy Acker probably had the best arc, as they continue to set her up as the one human who probably deserves powers more than any of the mutants, as she's ten times the hero they are. I'm worried for poor Marcos though. The things he goes through for Polaris. And after giving all that blood too! And now he's been shot multiple times! He's fucked!!!
  17. Black Monday **It seemed alright. I get how its tongue in cheek wasn't too far removed from something like The Brink. But I don't have time for this. I gave the first episode ten minutes, didn't love all the cocaine, or the way Don Cheadle treated the other guy, and just peace'd there. Sorry Don Cheadle.

Geekly Daily 58 (Wednesday January 30th):

Now playing:DVR...SLEEP
▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

It was not my night last night. Not my night at all. It was so cold, and the cold made me sick, and scattered and messed up and sloppy, and now my manager is pissed at me, oh and I puked when I got home, the cold made me feel so shitty, and now I can't sleep. I just, I can't. Tossed and turned, when I should have just watched the flash instead of wasting precious time. so now I'm gonna watch the flash and potentially just not sleep, after the worst day in... weeks? a week? I don't know anymore. My life is a trash pile.

Geekly Daily 57 (Tuesday. January 29):

Now playing: Rent Live
▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

16 shows. So far. And it's tuesday. Jesus christ. Superstar. No that was last year, this year it's Rent, and it was pretty good. Also finished Young Justice, and if you haven't watched it yet it's worth your time. Viewed in hindsight, it was a wacky crazy thing that is worth watching even if you might be more into like, say, anime than superheros. Not everyone is like me, but I think Young Justice has range.

4 stars. :p
  7. Deadly Class ****
Good second episode of deadly class.
  8. ➤ Rent Live ****It was a great performance.
  11. Black Lightning ***1/2
It was a fine episode of Black Lightning, but nothing spectacular.
  12. Saturday Night Live ***
A fun episode, not as bad as a lot of episodes lately, but then again I love James Mcavoy. He wasn't the best at reading the cue cards, and his reading problem was enough to really hamper some of the sketches, especially the early ones, but there was some great content here, including the Tumnus sketch, the charmin sketch,
  15. The Gifted ***
It was an alright episode. I was bored the whole way through, but I've had a lot to watch lately. I did think Lauren's plot was pretty boring. Geekly Weekly 21 (Saturday, January 26):

Now playing: DVR
▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

Just spent the weekend trying to catch up on my DVR.

I didn't.

Geekly Weekly TV Rankings ( for new):
  1. High Maintenance *****
I love this show so much. I definitely consider it required viewing, and with like 25 things to choose from, it immediately jumped out at me. I've missed the show, I wish the seasons were longer. The way it just shows so many different types of people and aspects of life in such a real and honest way. It is like no show that exists, and it's only half an hour an episode. It's worth it. I really like the new girl. And she has Synesthesia! You know I'm a fan of Synesthesia. I'm all for that whole thing. More of this. I want it. 5 stars.
  2. The Flash ****1/2
Great episode this week. I almost gave it 5 stars, but the Killer Frost / Catelyn
dynamic can be so silly and corny and eye-rolly, it's kinda hard to take seriously. And it's so over the top, and it always just devolves into Catlyn talking to herself, and it's rough. I don't know what the fix would be, because I like Killer Frost, and I like Caitlin. But then put them together and it just doesn't work at all. Even the quick changes back and forth, when it cut to her running to check on Nora it was like "Excuse me while I jump into a 4 hour make up change and I'm there!" My favourite aspect of the episode was Sherloque. He's so much fun. And when the episode began, and he translated "Time is Malleable" I knew in that second I was like "Holy shit, the journal was written by Reverse Flash" and it suddenly seemed so obvious. So basically Tom Cavanagh is investigating himself. I love the reflection in the last shot of the episode.
  3. Arrow ****1/2
Great episode of Arrow this week. I'd almosy give it 5 stars, but the flashforward held it back. What was going on with Rene? Why is Zoe super white in the past and then an Indian woman in the future? I honestly like the kid actress that plays her. I'd be cool with her getting more screentime and storylines more than "Is that the green arrow?" and then like 3 references throughout the episode. I mean, I appreciate that Rene at least remembers he has a daughter unlike some shows... and like some people on this show (Cough, where's Oliver's son, cough, cough I don't care either cough). I enjoyed all the stuff with Emiko. I even got excited with everyone else at the end with the build up to Oliver finally talking with her. I can't wait to see what they have to say to each other. I thought some of her fight scenes felt a little off, and also it's interesting you can clearly tell she's a woman now, when before it really could have gone either way. Begin of the season just way taller, completely different face structure behind the mask. But okay, whatever. I'll just tale their word for it I guess, cause as much as I've seen people complain about this episode online, I really enjoyed it. And I still like Arrow. I can't concieve of watching the Arrowverse but not watching Arrow, yet a lot of people do. It's the show people love to hate for some reason.
  4. ➤Young Justice ****1/23x07: Only watched the first episode of Young Justice so far, but it was great. There's a large invasion fleet on its way to Earth, and it really was absolutely massive, like a hundred thousand ships. And Vandal Savage, done better even than the CW show, realizes all the machinations he and Lex and Darkseid have gone through to destroy the justice league has left it open to invasion. And so, seeing no other choice, he realizes he has to be the one to stop it. So he takes a massive fuckign WarWorld, no idea how he got it, this planet sized deathstar with a million guns on it, or how it's not effecting the gravity of the earth, or how he got from earth to it. I guess they have beaming tech. Anyway, while he's saving the earth, some old lady keeps pestering his daughter about the story of Vandal Savage killing a bear, and it didn't take me long to suspect she had alzheimers, which was an interesting thing for a cartoon to tackle. And then Savage snapped her neck at the end, and that was also an insane thing for a cartoon to tackle. You realize, only then, that she is another of his daughters, just grown old in his long life. And he killed her! And his other daughter is just like "It was a mercy, father." and man, that was an emotional impactful moment that really landed. That's how you do emotion in a cartoon like this. Well set up, well executed. Though there was one melodramatic scene to make my eyes roll. It's always the same. They start out by saying something "funny" and awkward, and then the other person says "heh, yeah" and then their faces both get really serious, and their voices drop like 3 octaves for some reason so they sound like some player asshole trying to pick up a guy/girl at a bar, and then they're like "But seriously, I really care about you." And then one places their hand on the other. And it never works. It falls flat every fucking time, always feels forced. Just don't force it. The Vandal Savage plot was flawless in it's execution, and emotional, and hard hitting. And I still have 2 more eps of this... God I wish it was one a week. These are meaty episodes. Besides this one and the private security episode last week, all the others sorta clump together in my mind.
3x08: Second episode was really good as well. The first story was great, the second story, well lets just say when I saw Tim Drake's Robin I squealed in delight. Which is weird. I thought the transition from the second to third story was a little clunky. I was expecting a batcave interlude but it was just a straight cut. That's pretty much the only problem I had with an otherwise great episode. Cool to see the whole Justice League splitting apart thing was all a lie. It was funny, when Wonder Woman was like "You're all okay with lying under oath?" and they all look at each other like "Yeah, we're cool with it."
3x09: Another great episode with number, uh, it's been 7 8 and 9. I'm unsure if it's the strongest or the weakest of the three. It might have been the weakest, but it most made me want to give it 5 stars. And the end credits were inspired. This show is a little crazy, and that's okay. I find it funny that so far all the villains have actually managed to do is good. Vandal Savage saved the planet from an invasion, Lady Shiva saved all the super kids and super wives from horrible horrible death, and Granny Goodness apparently invented the VR tech everyone has been running around with. That's horrifying, but the other two... I'm just saying it would be funny if end of the season "Hey, it's the justice league, jokes on you, turns out we just manipulated and tricked you into being good guys and doing a lot of good stuff with our superior intellects... Suck it Lex Luthor blalalallaalala" Batman is like "It was my idea."
3x10: The cruel bastards released another 4 episodes! In this one, Superboy fucks Miss Martian (And she sets him up for the perfect dick joke, and he doesn't take the bait...guess even this cartoon has its limits). Oh also melodramatic porn voice of the episode goes to Daddy Harper and his "Don't you want to come inside." to Cheshire. I'm sure she doesn't now. The plot with Batman and his group was probably the weakest of the episode, and the primary plot. Who is Metamorpho? Having him and the rest be radio silent for half the episode didn't help. I knew enough about Katana, but Metamorpho looked like a freaking clown mocking Batman and Katana and their ninja ways.
  5. Star Trek Discovery ****1/2
Decent season premiere. The visual effects with the asteroid field, and all those strange gravitational pulses, was fun and interesting. Tig Notaro was weird. Pike was fun, and chill, and respects his team which was nice. I thought the weakest aspect of the episode was all the flashbacks. The acting was off, everything child Spock did was off, and Burnam's constant obssession with Alice in Wonderland is a little weird. Is it the only book she's ever read? It's not even that good of a story. The writer was quite likely a pervert!
Also the end didn't land at all. Her face as she's like "Oh my god, it's CG bullshit!!!" And none of it meant anything. Just bullshit bullshit bullshit. But other than those complaints, great episode. :p
  6. Supergirl ****
Everything with Brainiac was fun this week, from his date with Nee... nope not gonna try with that one, to him compartmentalizing his mind to protect himself from interrogation. I also found Alex's story to be really compelling, right up until they decided to wipe her mind at the end, which is insane. Why not just resign from the DEO instead of change everything about yourself? Ugh! Also, so far this season I don't think they made it really clear to us that the General didn't know Kara was Alex's sister. Cause I was really confused why the General trusted Alex so much about Supergirl matters, and this episode it was like "Oh, she doesn't get the connection." That must have been really confusing for her then. She must have thought they were like Lesbians or something. Which I mean Alex is.
  7. The Good Place ****Fun Episode, my favourite gag was the slug that wrapped itself around Tehani. And then it gets turned into a scarf, but it just looks like a scarf, it's still a scary slug creature/ And by the end of the episode, I could have sworn the scarf became two scarves, I was hoping they would just start panicking about that, but it wasn't brought up.
  8. ➤ The Orville ****It wasn't a bad episode of The Orville. I thought it cool when they revealed the twist that they'd ash tyler'ed the woman, and the remainder of the episode was alright in his attempts to convince her not to be so fanatic to her religion and embrace the human she was pretending to be. It didn't really work, but the Billy Joel at the end was a nice outro.
  9. The Big Bang Theory**** Decent Episode, a little forgettable I suppose, cause I largely forgot it. Oh Penny has to work with Bernadette... was fine. Sheldon's story line was fine too, but they definitely underutilized Kal Penn and Sean Astin. I think my favourite part was the dean just giving Sheldon whatever he wants, and sucking up to him like he's an elite. It's so different from the way he used to be so exasperated and have no patience for Sheldon, and now that he's big man on campus the guy is just like "My job is to make you happy" "Maybe you just need to relieve some of that stress at the gym... let me show you!" It's hilarious. Definitely my favourite moment, maybe less for the actual moment, and more for just the continuing of this man's increasing subservience to Sheldon. And Sheldon does NOT know what to do with all of it. Great stuff. But that was one scene in an otherwise fine episode.
  10. Shameless ***1/2 I love this show, and when I saw all the poor reviews for this episode, I thought they were silly. There's never been a bad episode of this show. Well this episode wasn't bad. It was fine, but it was a little hard to watch because a lot of characters are going through some dark places right now, and watching these characters we care about fall apart is hard to watch, and not very funny. Also Carl's plot of stealing scooters was dumb as shit. Lip's storyline with his girlfriend was a little more interesting, if nothing more than for her reactions to how insane Lip's life is.
  11. Gotham ***1/2
The cliffhanger was a surprise. Did they just kill all the refugees? And the kid?
5x04: The Next episode was more of the same, pushing ridiculous unbelievable plots, over the top performances. This season has not been Gotham at it's best, and even Selena feels wrong. I'll be honest, I don't love the way things have been playing out, but the in the moment events do enough to keep me invested. Especially as there are now only 4 episodes left.
  12. The Goldbergs ***1/2
It was an alright episode, dealing with the grief of actors moving to the spin-off, which as we remembered was terrible so good riddance? I could not care less about coach leaving, I never cared much for him at all. As for the main plot, as usual my favourite character was Geoff trying to help and getting nothing but hostility in return. Geoff is great. Also I was somewhat intrigued by the true story of Rosie Ruiz, how she thought she could get away with cheating at the marathon is insane.
  13. The Gifted ***The episode started out strong. It really did! But then the show continued to tear apart every relationship it had, because that's the only way this show knows how to build drama. Next we're gonna have Vampire Bill cheating on Winifred Burkle. They've almost ruined daddy strucker, but AMy Acker is up to 25 pull ups so maybe she'll be the hero we all need. Oh and nothing we more ridiculous than Amy Acker soccer mom pulling out a piece from her minivan and just unloading on cops with her daughter. At that point the show lost all hope of a good rating. The cliffhanger ending was decent in it's ability to make me scream at my TV at how stupid Andy is. and NOOOOOOOOO!
  14. Roswell *
I gave it 4 minutes. Nope. The voice over lost me. One of her very first actual lines being "I'm a latina!" sealed its fate.

Geekly Daily 55 (Thursday, January 24):

Now playing: DVR
▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

Finally did the write ups for good place and big bang theory, added new stuff, just been working hard and catching up on my DVR when off. And sleeping more than I'd like, as usual. And eating to much, and spending way too much on food with money I don't have, And smoking too much. I need to stop, with the food and the smoking. My metabolism has gone way up for some reason. I've been just sleeping and eating non-stop and it's seriously effecting my life. Also my debt, at recent check, is wildly out of control, and I don't know how the hell I'm going to get back. Pretty sure my interest is now higher than I can afford, I am in serious trouble. I'd better stop smoking and eating, and I still don't know if that will be enough. I just don't know how to get a handle on my life. Things just keep getting worse. At this point all I can do is not think about it, and focus on quitting smoking and spending as little money as possible.

I want it. 5 stars.
  2. The Flash ****1/2Great episode this week. I almost gave it 5 stars, but the Killer Frost / Catelyn dynamic can be so silly and corny and eye-rolly, it's kinda hard to take seriously.
  4. ➤Young Justice ****1/2Only watched the first episode of Young Justice so far, but it was great.
Second episode was really good as well. The first story was great, the second story, well lets just say when I saw Tim Drake's Robin I squealed in delight. Which is weird.
